Lead Electrical Engineer – Design Services

About the role

DAR ENGINEERING is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to head design services for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing the full design lifecycle from concept through to construction documents, ensuring compliance with local authorities and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare master plans and detailed designs for HV, MV and LV utility corridors, coordinating with civil, telecom, road and landscape teams.
• Develop load calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination and tie‑in point specifications for dry utilities and infrastructure.
• Design electrical and ELV systems for STPs, RO plants, storm‑water, sewage and irrigation stations, including lighting, earthing, lightning protection, telecommunications, security and fire alarm systems.
• Produce design reports, specifications, tender documents and secure approvals from clients, authorities and sub‑consultants.
• Review and comment on design documents prepared by other consultants.
• Lead technical proposals, bid evaluations, value‑engineering studies and respond to contractor RFIs.
• Utilise Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM tools and Revit for clash detection and resolution.
• Act as project or discipline lead, managing scope, budget, schedule and reporting status.
• Liaise with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to obtain power supply master‑plan approvals, NOCs and design submissions.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience (≈180 months) in electrical engineering design for infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi regulatory requirements and SEC procedures.
• Ability to manage complex projects from concept to IFC stage.
