Linux System Engineer – Red Hat & Ansible Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Linux System Engineer to join Penta Consulting’s EMEA operations team. The role focuses on maintaining and securing Red Hat/Enterprise Linux environments, automating patch cycles, and supporting container platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Execute Linux patching, system maintenance and lifecycle management.
• Support Red Hat/Enterprise Linux servers and virtual appliances.
• Use Ansible to automate patching and other routine tasks.
• Monitor patch compliance, investigate failures and apply remediation.
• Provide support for OpenShift and Kubernetes environments as needed.
• Coordinate with virtualization and application teams during maintenance windows.
• Maintain Linux SOPs, runbooks and hardening documentation.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of hands‑on Linux administration experience.
• Strong background with Red Hat/Enterprise Linux.
• Practical experience using Ansible for automation.
• Familiarity with patching, security remediation and ITSM/change‑management processes.
• Basic awareness of Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, ITIL Foundation; OpenShift or Ansible certifications are a plus.
