Materials Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Materials Engineer to lead material selection, testing and quality assurance for large‑scale infrastructure, transportation and building projects in Jeddah. The role involves ensuring all construction materials meet project specifications, international standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve construction materials submitted by contractors and suppliers.
• Supervise material testing activities in laboratories and on‑site.
• Coordinate material approvals with design consultants, contractors, laboratories and client representatives.
• Conduct inspections of material manufacturing plants, quarries, asphalt plants, concrete batching plants and suppliers.
• Monitor QA/QC procedures throughout project execution and investigate material‑related issues.
• Verify compliance with standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN and local authority requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, non‑conformance reports and material approval documentation.
• Maintain records of approved materials, test results and quality documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction materials engineering, quality control or infrastructure projects.
• Professional certification in quality management or materials engineering is an advantage.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written) preferred.
