Materials Engineer – Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a Materials Engineer to lead procurement initiatives, ensuring optimal value, cost efficiency, and compliance across civil and architectural projects. The role bridges technical requirements with supply‑chain strategies to support our organization’s commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies that maximize value and reduce costs.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with project technical requirements.
• Prepare and implement procurement plans supporting business objectives and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry standards.
• Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical specifications, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams to improve service levels and mitigate risks.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering, and process improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of suppliers, materials, and procurement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance and enforce contractual and quality standards.
• Support implementation of best practices in procurement processes and systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience as a Procurement Engineer or Materials Engineer, preferably in civil and architectural materials.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials and technical specifications.
• Ability to evaluate technical and commercial aspects of supplier proposals.
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and compliance standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
