Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure Supervision

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our supervision consultancy team on a large‑scale infrastructure development located about 100 km north of Jeddah. The successful candidate will work closely with the Resident Engineer to oversee mechanical and utility works, ensuring they meet project specifications, approved drawings, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor mechanical and utility construction works on site.
• Assist the Resident Engineer (Mechanical) in overseeing mechanical infrastructure.
• Inspect and supervise installation of potable water supply networks.
• Monitor works related to firefighting systems and associated infrastructure.
• Supervise installation of gas distribution networks.
• Oversee construction of stormwater drainage and sanitary sewage systems.
• Supervise installation of irrigation and landscape‑related mechanical works.
• Ensure contractor compliance with method statements, drawings, and quality standards.
• Review contractor submissions, including shop drawings and material submittals.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and prepare inspection and progress reports.
• Identify and report technical issues, non‑conformances, and delays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in infrastructure construction or supervision.
• Proven experience with utility projects (potable water, firefighting, gas distribution, stormwater, sanitary sewage, irrigation).
• Previous work with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision capacity is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, inspection procedures, and quality control standards.
