Operations Manager – Ocean Freight (OFR)

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an OFR Operations Manager to lead its Ocean Freight team in Jeddah. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, profitability and customer satisfaction across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead department managers, supervisors and Ocean Freight Specialists to execute daily operations.
• Own P&L for the assigned area and drive gross profit and productivity.
• Act as primary escalation point for exceptions and customer complaints.
• Monitor performance, conduct regular evaluations and implement process improvements.
• Collaborate with field sales to grow local market share and retain customers.
• Ensure compliance with global standard processes and regulatory requirements.
• Build and manage supplier relationships to optimise service delivery.
• Develop a high‑performing, collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of experience in logistics or freight operations.
• Proven track record of P&L ownership and driving financial performance.
• Strong leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Customer‑centric mindset with ability to handle escalations.
