Penetration Testing Director

About the role

The Penetration Testing Director will shape and lead the organization’s offensive security program, aligning testing activities with business objectives and client needs. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality security assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive Penetration Testing strategy that supports overall security goals.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing penetration testing team, establishing KPIs and quality standards.
• Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of all penetration testing engagements, ensuring adherence to industry‑approved methodologies.
• Build strong client relationships, present findings to technical and executive audiences, and support pre‑sales technical activities.
• Continuously improve testing methodologies, tools, and reporting standards while staying current on emerging threats.
• Collaborate with GRC, Security Operations, Incident Response, Engineering, and Consulting teams, as well as technology partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of cybersecurity experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within penetration testing, red teaming, or offensive security.
• Proven track record leading enterprise‑scale penetration testing engagements.
• Experience in a cybersecurity consulting firm, MSSP, or technology company is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, CRTO, CISSP, GPEN are preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
