Physical Server Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Physical Server Specialist to oversee the operation, maintenance and optimisation of our on‑premise server, storage and mainframe environments in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures high availability, performance and compliance with change management processes while supporting business‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, manage and control online storage based on I/O pattern statistics and performance data.
• Configure and allocate storage capacity according to approved change requests.
• Maintain catalogues with information on storage allocation, utilization, user directories and access patterns.
• Perform storage compaction, data migration and archive management as required.
• Monitor and manage mainframe systems, including console events, batch job scheduling and recovery procedures.
• Support mainframe applications to ensure SLA compliance and system uptime.
• Document issues, resolutions and operational activities for both storage and mainframe environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in server, storage and mainframe operations and management.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience managing physical servers, storage systems and mainframes.
• Knowledge of storage allocation, LUN management and data migration.
• Proficiency in monitoring performance data, I/O statistics and capacity planning.
• Experience with batch job scheduling, mainframe console events and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with release and change management processes in IT operations.
