Plant General Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Plant General Manager to lead the Bisha Solar PV plant and associated water desalination assets. Reporting to the VP Cluster Head of Assets – South Region, you will be responsible for safe, reliable and cost‑effective operation of the plant, ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement plant strategy aligned with ACWA Operations’ O&M objectives.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operational and maintenance activities, monitor performance and address issues promptly.
• Prepare and present regular reports and board presentations covering financial results, warranty matters and manpower status.
• Manage workforce planning, recruitment and performance of direct and indirect reports.
• Set individual objectives, provide coaching, and drive talent development across the plant team.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize resource utilization to maximize revenue and plant efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in power generation or water desalination plant management.
• Strong understanding of O&M processes, safety and reliability standards.
• Ability to analyse operational data, financial metrics and present findings to senior management.
• Excellent people‑management skills, including recruitment, performance management and team development.
• Commitment to delivering uninterrupted supply and meeting contractual performance targets.
