Power System Study Engineer – Coordinator

About the role

The Power System Study Engineer will coordinate and execute comprehensive studies for substations and renewable power plant grid integration. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with international standards and local grid codes while delivering reliable, high‑performance power system solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform transient and steady‑state stability, voltage stability, harmonic, and power quality studies for solar PV, wind, and HVDC projects.
• Conduct short‑circuit analysis, switchgear and circuit‑breaker sizing, and insulation coordination for cables, transformers, and reactors.
• Lead arc‑flash, LVRT, fault‑ride‑through, ferro‑resonance, and secondary arc current extinction studies.
• Execute contingency, surge‑arrester selection, and power oscillation damping analyses.
• Develop load‑flow studies to identify over‑loading and reactive power requirements for renewable energy scenarios.
• Validate grid‑code compliance for all operating scenarios before plant energisation.
• Support motor acceleration and re‑acceleration studies for industrial processes.
• Analyse market‑available technological solutions and propose optimisation options while meeting grid‑code requirements.

Required profile

• Strong background in power system engineering with experience in renewable energy integration.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, DEP and regional grid codes, especially for the Middle East.
• Ability to interpret and apply international standards to study inputs and results.
• Proven experience in detailed technical analysis and documentation.
