Procurement Engineer – EPC Projects

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle for EPC projects in Saudi Arabia, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, timely delivery and compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full procurement process for materials, equipment, long‑lead items and subcontracted services in line with project requirements.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations and conduct technical and commercial bid assessments together with engineering and project teams.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties and contractual conditions to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
• Issue purchase orders, procurement recommendations and contract documentation for management approval.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, QA/QC, logistics, construction and project management to guarantee timely material delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance, expedite critical deliveries and resolve issues that may affect project schedules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and identify new suppliers to improve quality, cost and delivery.
• Track procurement progress, maintain schedules and provide regular status reports to project management.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client specifications, contractual obligations and HSE/quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of procurement experience with reputable EPC contractors.
• At least 5 years in EPC projects within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Infrastructure or Industrial sectors.
• Proven track record in procuring long‑lead items, critical equipment, bulk materials and subcontracted services.
• Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPM are preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle or equivalent procurement software).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
