Project Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Accounting Manager to lead the financial management of real estate development and construction projects. The role will partner closely with Development, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Treasury, and Commercial teams to ensure strong financial governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project cost accounting and monitor budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
• Oversee construction accounting, CWIP, capitalization, and fixed‑asset transfers.
• Prepare project budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections, and cost‑to‑complete analyses.
• Review contractor payment applications, contract variations, and retention balances.
• Produce monthly project financial reports, dashboards, and performance analysis.
• Support revenue recognition for development projects in accordance with IFRS.
• Coordinate with Treasury on project funding and financing requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, SOCPA, VAT, ZATCA, and company policies.
• Support ERP enhancements and process improvements in project accounting.
• Lead and develop the Project Accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 8–12 years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years in project or construction accounting.
• Proven experience in real‑estate development, construction, infrastructure, mixed‑use, hospitality or commercial development projects.
• Strong knowledge of project cost control, CWIP accounting, capitalization, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, CMA or ACCA is preferred.
• PMP certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• ERP systems – Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Power BI (advantageous).
• IFRS and Saudi accounting standards (SOCPA, VAT, ZATCA).
