Project Director – Metro/Rail (Bid Opportunity)

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a lead design consultancy scope for a major rail/metro project. This senior leadership position requires overseeing the full design management process, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall project leadership, governance and strategic direction across all phases.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams covering architecture, civil, structural, MEP, rail systems and specialist disciplines.
• Act as the primary senior point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
• Oversee design coordination, integration and compliance with codes, standards and authority requirements.
• Control program schedule, budget, quality and contractual obligations.
• Lead design reviews, progress meetings and strategic workshops.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change control processes.
• Support tender, procurement and construction‑stage design services as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience in design and delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in leading large‑scale metro, rail station and transit environment projects.
• Strong ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships at senior levels.
• Excellent governance, risk management and commercial oversight skills.
