About the role
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end procurement process, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining accurate records. You will act as the primary liaison between vendors, internal teams, and warehouse staff to guarantee smooth operations.
Key responsibilities
- Meet with vendors and clients to process orders and negotiate terms.
- Liaise with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on schedule.
- Inspect purchased products upon delivery and report any issues promptly.
- Update and maintain records of all purchased items.
- Prepare purchase reports and conduct cost analysis.
- Participate in meetings with staff and stakeholders to discuss procurement needs.
- Process purchase orders based on PO directions and monitor market price differences.
- Scan invoices and delivery notes, consolidate daily purchases per business unit, and forward documentation to coordinators.
- Deliver purchased items to business unit stores and obtain signatures on delivery notes.
- Manage supplier claims and resolve issues as needed.
