QA/QC Manager – Structural Steel Fabrication

About the role

Westeel Metal Industries is looking for an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead the quality function across structural steel fabrication, welding, painting/coating, inspection and documentation for Saudi Aramco and other industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the company Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and client‑specific requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with Saudi Aramco engineering standards, material specifications, inspection procedures and audit readiness.
• Oversee QA/QC activities for structural steel and pre‑engineered building (PEB) fabrication, including material receiving, cutting, welding, coating and final inspection.
• Manage welding quality, verify WPS/PQR compliance, control consumables, and coordinate NDT (VT, MT, PT, UT, RT) activities.
• Maintain material traceability, review test certificates and control heat‑number transfer throughout production.
• Supervise painting and coating processes, monitor surface preparation, film thickness and environmental conditions.
• Develop and maintain Inspection & Test Plans, hold points and witness points, and ensure timely completion of inspections.
• Raise and close Non‑Conformance Reports, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Control calibration of measuring equipment, manage supplier and subcontractor quality audits, and lead the QA/QC team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgical, Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 9 years of QA/QC experience in structural steel fabrication, EPC or oil & gas projects.
• Demonstrated experience working on Saudi Aramco projects and knowledge of Aramco quality requirements.
