Radar Systems Engineer

About the role

Leidos is looking for a Radar Systems Engineer to support a U.S. Air Force Foreign Military Sales program for the Royal Saudi Air Force. The position is a one‑year fixed‑term assignment, with the possibility of renewal, based at one of several sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on surveillance radar equipment, subsystems, and software.
• Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of radar systems.
• Train RSAF engineering officers and warrant officers on radar theory and practical skills.
• Develop and deliver engineering training material.
• Perform intermediate‑level maintenance and travel to remote radar sites as part of the Mobile Maintenance Team.
• Assist in interfacing radars within an air‑defense network and ensure coverage criteria are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Radar Technology.
• 12‑15 years of experience with surveillance radars such as TPS‑43, TPS‑72, or FPS‑117.
• Hands‑on experience with installation, testing, integration, upgrades, and modifications of long‑range radars.
• Demonstrated cultural adaptability and ability to build trusted relationships with international customers.
