Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Receiving Clerk ensures that all goods and supplies arriving at the hotel are accurately received, inspected, and recorded. This position plays a key part in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting smooth hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and unload all incoming goods, materials, and supplies from vendors.
• Inspect deliveries to confirm quantity, quality, and specifications match purchase orders.
• Verify and process delivery documentation such as invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders.
• Record received items in the inventory or procurement system.
• Report and document any damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
• Coordinate with purchasing, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Label, tag, and store received stock in designated areas.
• Maintain accurate receiving logs for audit and tracking.
• Follow up on pending or partial deliveries.
• Assist with stock counts, inventory reconciliation, and preparation of receiving reports.
• Ensure safety standards during unloading and handling of goods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics, supply‑chain or business diploma is a plus.
• 1–3 years experience in receiving, warehousing, inventory or store operations, preferably in hospitality or retail.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with purchase orders, delivery notes, and stock documentation.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite (or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record‑keeping and reporting.
