Recreation Manager

About the role

The Recreation Manager supports the Director of Recreation in overseeing the pool and beach areas of a resort on Ummahat Island. The role ensures daily upkeep, cleanliness, safe operation of cabana units, and delivers exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage recreation staff, covering duties in their absence.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of pool, beach, and cabana areas.
• Schedule and coordinate events, programs, and activities for guests.
• Manage external vendors for water‑sports and scuba services.
• Order, control, and distribute supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms.
• Run the children’s program, including activity planning and equipment procurement.
• Organise group activities such as sand painting, bonfires, and team‑building events.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service quality.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance appraisal support to team members.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of recreation/health‑club experience, **or** an associate degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and the ability to perform operational duties when needed.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
