Resident Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Resident Engineer will act as the lead consultant representative on‑site, overseeing construction of transportation corridors, roads, highways, utility networks and drainage works. The role ensures that all works meet contractual obligations, quality standards, approved specifications and project schedules within Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the site supervision team for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Serve as the primary liaison between client, contractor and consultant on‑site.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with specifications, drawings, standards and contracts.
• Oversee quality assurance and quality control throughout project execution.
• Review contractor submissions such as method statements, material approvals and work programmes.
• Track project progress, identify risks, delays and construction challenges.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Validate and certify contractor progress reports and payment applications.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Chair site meetings and prepare status reports for clients and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑graduate experience in infrastructure projects.
• At least 8 years in a Resident Engineer capacity on major infrastructure works.
• Mandatory experience working in Saudi Arabia with engineering consultancy firms.
• Proven track record supervising transportation, highways, roads, utilities and drainage projects.
• Strong understanding of construction supervision procedures, contract administration and quality management systems.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and infrastructure delivery frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and reporting abilities.
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
