Resident Engineer (Tracks)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Resident Engineer to lead the on‑site delivery of the Tracks package within a large rail/metro programme. Working under a PMC scope and embedded with the client and contractors, you will be responsible for construction quality, safety, progress, and compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise permanent way works including formation, sub‑grade, ballast/ballastless track, sleepers, rail installation, turnouts, welding, stressing, grinding, fastening, drainage and ancillary works.
• Drive HSE leadership on rail work sites and ensure safety standards are met.
• Assure quality to IFC, standards, ITPs and QMS; witness key tests, approve/reject works and close NCRs and punch lists.
• Control interfaces with stations, depot track slabs, structures, utilities, signalling, OCS/third rail, telecoms and T&C systems.
• Review and approve track submittals such as method statements, shop drawings, procedures and temporary works.
• Administer site‑level contract processes (FIDIC), manage correspondence, engineer’s instructions and change control.
• Validate progress and payments by measuring track outputs and substantiating interim payment approvals.
• Maintain as‑built documentation, support commissioning interfaces and final hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years post‑graduate experience in rail/metro construction supervision with strong trackwork exposure.
• Mandatory experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC and familiarity with regional codes and permitting.
• Proven PMC/client‑side supervision on large multi‑package programmes.
