Rig Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Rig Manager to lead safe, efficient and cost‑effective drilling operations for a client project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing all aspects of rig performance, HSE compliance and crew management on site.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee drilling, work‑over and maintenance operations while meeting budget, schedule and technical requirements.
• Enforce HSE policies, lead safety meetings, conduct risk assessments and investigate incidents.
• Supervise rig crews, contractors and service providers, manage staffing, shifts, performance and training.
• Coordinate rig equipment inspections, preventive maintenance and resolve equipment issues.
• Communicate daily operational performance to management, engineers and contractors and produce performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 + years of drilling operations experience, including at least 3 years in a rig management role.
• Strong background in land or offshore drilling, with experience on various rig types.
• Prior experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• IWCF or IADC Well Control certification.
• H2S Awareness & Safety certification.
• BOSIET/HUET certification for offshore operations.
• NEBOSH or OSHA safety certification.
• First Aid and Firefighting training.
