Senior Accountant – Real Estate Project Accounting

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead accounting and financial activities for our real‑estate development projects. The role ensures accurate cost tracking, revenue recognition, budgeting and reporting while complying with IFRS and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end project accounting, including cost allocation, work‑in‑progress (WIP) management and asset capitalization.
• Maintain project ledgers, classify expenditures (materials, contractors, consultants, manpower, overheads) and validate invoices, progress certificates and milestone payments.
• Monitor project cash flow, commitments and actual costs against approved budgets.
• Ensure timely revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and real‑estate accounting standards.
• Prepare project financial statements, management reports, dashboards and variance analyses.
• Support project managers with budget preparation, cost‑to‑complete forecasts and updates.
• Maintain the commitments register and enforce Delegation of Authority and internal controls.
• Coordinate with internal audit and external auditors on project‑related financial risks and documentation.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing, account reconciliations and asset capitalization schedules.
• Support VAT, Zakat and tax reporting for project costs and revenues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in project accounting.
• Experience in real‑estate, construction or other project‑based environments.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, especially IFRS 15, and internal financial controls.
