Senior Android Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join Hungerstation’s Riyadh team. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑quality native Android applications that power our fast‑growing food‑delivery platform.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse product requirements, assess technical feasibility and estimate effort in collaboration with product owners.
• Design and implement modular, testable Android components using modern architectures.
• Write unit, integration, UI and snapshot tests to ensure code quality.
• Investigate, debug and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback and maintain documentation.
• Monitor product performance, report on development progress and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, primarily on Android.
• Strong foundation in design patterns, algorithms and object‑oriented programming.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of an agile team.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a passion for clean architecture.

Required skills

• Kotlin (preferred) and Java.
• Android SDK, Activities, Fragments and lifecycle management.
• Modern Android Development (MAD) tools: ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs.
• Networking libraries such as Retrofit2 and reactive programming with RxJava2.
• Dependency injection with Dagger2 (multi‑module setups).
• Version control with Git.
• Unit, integration, UI and snapshot testing frameworks.
