Senior Cloud Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

About the role

Jawraa is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, build, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure for its core products and services. You will work closely with software, data, and security teams to drive cloud‑native transformation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement fault‑tolerant, scalable solutions on GCP using GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
• Define infrastructure standards, patterns, and reference architectures for engineering teams.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Google Deployment Manager.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Automate operations, monitoring, and remediation with Python, Bash, or Go scripts.
• Implement GCP security best practices (IAM, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Armor) and ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR.
• Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, lead incident response, and conduct post‑mortems.
• Optimize resource utilization and drive FinOps cost‑management practices.
• Design and manage VPC networks, subnets, firewall rules, load balancing, Cloud CDN, Cloud DNS, Traffic Director, Interconnect, VPN, Shared VPC, and VPC Peering.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level cloud engineers and document architecture decisions and runbooks.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience designing and operating GCP‑based infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead cloud‑native transformation initiatives.
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting best‑practice cultures.
