Senior Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and deliver a secure, scalable private cloud platform based on VMware and OpenShift. The role will own the end‑to‑end architecture, implementation and onboarding of the platform, ensuring it meets production‑ready, governance and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define high‑level and low‑level architecture designs for private cloud infrastructure and container platforms.
• Deploy core cloud services using VMware (vSphere, vCenter, NSX‑T, vSAN) and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Integrate the cloud platform with enterprise networking, security, monitoring, identity management and ITSM tools.
• Implement automation, self‑service provisioning, orchestration and multi‑tenancy via VMware Aria Automation, Ansible, Python and REST APIs.
• Establish standards for scalability, availability, performance and security, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.
• Design and configure disaster‑recovery, backup and replication solutions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, network and application teams to drive adoption and provide technical guidance during rollout.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud or platform engineering.
• Strong knowledge of VMware stack (vSphere, vCenter, NSX‑T, vSAN, Aria suite) and OpenShift deployment, administration and scaling.
• Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python scripting and REST API integration.
• Understanding of data‑center networking, segmentation, load balancing and firewalls.
• Experience with enterprise storage, software‑defined storage, backup and DR concepts.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, identity management and other enterprise integration points.
• Solid grasp of cloud security, governance and compliance requirements.
