Senior Data Engineer – Azure (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a large‑scale digital transformation initiative. The role is remote and based in Saudi Arabia, focusing on designing, developing and maintaining scalable data solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Synapse.
• Build and optimise data models and architectures on Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake and Azure SQL.
• Develop data transformations and processing workflows with Python and SQL.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects and technical teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Apply version control (Git) and engineering best practices for maintainable code.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools where appropriate for automation and optimisation.
• Troubleshoot issues, monitor performance and continuously improve pipeline reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Python and SQL in data engineering.
• At least 3 years working with Azure services (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL).
• 3 years of experience with Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Proven experience designing analytics‑ready datasets and data solutions.
• 4 years of experience using Git or similar version‑control systems.
