Senior Legal Counsel – Saudi Arabia

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead all legal matters related to its projects and entities in Saudi Arabia. The role serves as the primary legal interface with government bodies, partners, and internal teams, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for legal issues concerning Alstom projects and subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia.
• Represent Alstom with external stakeholders such as government entities, administrative institutions, external law firms, partners and subcontractors.
• Support Business Development and Bid teams in drafting, reviewing and negotiating MoUs, NDAs, tender documents, commercial offers, consortium agreements and other contractual documents.
• Participate in defining claim management and dispute resolution strategies and oversee their implementation.
• Assist Sourcing teams with subcontract agreement negotiations and ensure corporate matters are handled appropriately.
• Deliver legal and contractual training to commercial and business development personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in an international business environment or law firms.
• Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in construction or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Sharia and Islamic law, as well as public tender and procurement regulations.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Law degree (LLB/Law) – LLM desirable.
