Senior Procurement Engineer

About the role

AKG Holding is looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer – MEP to lead the end‑to‑end sourcing of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting and ELV materials, equipment and specialist subcontract packages across Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pre‑qualify and develop suppliers, manufacturers, authorised distributors and specialist subcontractors; maintain an approved vendor list.
• Review MEP drawings, specifications, schedules and BOQs; prepare RFQs and evaluate technical submittals.
• Perform commercial bid comparisons, normalise quotations and negotiate price, delivery, payment terms, warranties and contractual provisions.
• Issue and administer purchase orders, supply agreements and subcontract packages; manage variations, amendments and back‑charges.
• Coordinate letters of credit, bank guarantees, advance payment guarantees and performance bonds.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality and compliance with Saudi Building Code, SASO, Civil Defence and utility authority requirements.
• Prepare cost‑control reports and ensure timely order close‑out, including documentation and warranty management.

Required profile

• 10+ years of overall procurement experience, with at least 5 years focused on MEP procurement.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi construction standards and international MEP specifications.
• Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and deliver measurable cost savings.
