Senior Road Expert - Highways Design

About the role

This position offers the chance to work on one of the largest mixed‑use development programmes in Saudi Arabia, delivering sports, entertainment and arts facilities together with extensive infrastructure. As a senior highway engineering advisor you will ensure designs are robust, safe, constructible and aligned with programme objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and assurance for highway design, ensuring compliance with standards and governance.
• Review and challenge design deliverables, identify risks and drive coordinated, constructible solutions.
• Support stakeholder engagement, authority approvals and consultant oversight to enable effective delivery.
• Deliver technical guidance, knowledge sharing and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Direct and manage design delivery, resources and operational performance across projects.
• Act as the focal point for design management, driving governance and compliance.
• Support project delivery, procurement and business development activities.
• Promote technical excellence, capability development and collaboration while supporting net‑zero carbon commitments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Chartered membership or equivalent professional engineering registration preferred.
• Extensive highway design experience on major infrastructure projects, including work in the Middle East.
• Significant years of experience delivering projects in the consultancy sector.
• Strong expertise in geometric design, pavements, drainage, interchanges and road safety.
• Proficiency with highway design software and experience engaging regulatory authorities.
