Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer (PMC) – Full Time

About the role

ARX is seeking a senior professional to lead the technical review of traffic engineering designs, temporary traffic management plans and road diversion proposals for major infrastructure projects in Riyadh.

Key responsibilities

• Review and provide technical recommendations on traffic engineering studies, impact assessments, temporary traffic management plans and detour designs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Assess diversion alignments, junction layouts, lane configurations, signage, barriers, lighting and provisions for pedestrians and cyclists to ensure safe access for residents, businesses, public transport and emergency services.
• Coordinate reviews with highway, utilities, structural, construction and health‑and‑safety teams to resolve design interfaces and constructability issues.
• Liaise with clients, road authorities, traffic police, consultants and contractors to support permits, approvals and implementation planning.
• Conduct site inspections before and after diversion implementation, monitor traffic performance during construction and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, road design, temporary traffic management and diversion planning.
• Proven experience reviewing traffic and detour designs for major road or infrastructure projects, preferably in a PMC or client‑representative role.
• Professional engineering registration or chartered status is preferred.
