Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer (PMC) – Full Time

About the role

ARX is expanding its Middle‑East presence and seeks a Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer for its Riyadh office. You will lead the PMC’s technical review of traffic engineering designs, temporary traffic management plans and road diversion proposals, ensuring safety, compliance and minimal disruption during construction.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on traffic studies, impact assessments, temporary management plans and detour designs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Assess diversion alignments, junction layouts, lane configurations, signage, barriers, lighting and provisions for pedestrians and cyclists.
• Verify that proposed arrangements maintain safe access for residents, businesses, public transport, emergency services and construction activities.
• Coordinate with highway, utilities, structural, construction and health‑and‑safety teams to resolve design interfaces.
• Participate in road‑safety audits, site inspections before and after diversion implementation, and monitor traffic performance during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, road design, temporary traffic management and diversion planning.
• Proven experience reviewing traffic and detour designs for major infrastructure or urban development projects.
• Previous experience in a PMC, supervision consultancy or client‑representative role.
• Professional engineering registration or chartered status is preferred.
