Senior Traffic & Detour Engineer (PMC) – Full Time

About the role

ARX is seeking a Senior Traffic and Detour Engineer to lead technical reviews of traffic engineering designs, temporary traffic management plans, and road diversion proposals for projects in Riyadh. The role ensures compliance with project requirements, standards, and local authority regulations while maintaining safe access and minimizing construction disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Review and provide technical recommendations on traffic studies, impact assessments, temporary traffic management plans, and detour designs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Assess diversion alignments, junction layouts, lane configurations, signage, barriers, lighting, and provisions for pedestrians and cyclists.
• Coordinate with highway, utilities, structural, construction, and health‑and‑safety teams to resolve design interfaces and constructability issues.
• Liaise with clients, road authorities, traffic police, consultants, and contractors to support permits, approvals, and implementation planning.
• Conduct site inspections before and after diversion implementation to verify compliance and identify corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, road design, temporary traffic management, and diversion planning.
• Proven experience reviewing traffic and detour designs for major infrastructure or urban development projects.
• Previous experience in a PMC, supervision consultancy, or client‑representative role.
• Professional engineering registration or chartered status preferred.
