Stewarding Team Leader

About the role

The Stewarding Team Leader ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational support across all back‑of‑house areas of a luxury hotel. Working closely with the Stewarding Manager and other departments, you will supervise daily stewarding activities, develop associates and maintain a safe, organized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily stewarding operations in kitchens, restaurants, bars, banquet facilities and back‑of‑house areas.
• Maintain compliance with Rosewood brand standards, Forbes standards, LQA, HACCP and local health regulations.
• Oversee dishwashing, cleaning, sanitising and proper storage of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cookware.
• Conduct regular inspections, manage deep‑cleaning schedules and report maintenance or hygiene concerns.
• Coordinate equipment distribution and ensure sufficient resources for all service periods.
• Support banquet and special‑event setups and breakdowns.
• Monitor associate performance, provide guidance and foster development.
• Control costs by minimising breakage, waste and chemical consumption; assist with inventory counts.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising stewarding teams in a luxury hotel or similar environment.
• Strong operational presence with the ability to maintain hygiene compliance and safety standards.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple areas simultaneously.
• Commitment to associate development and a disciplined approach to procedures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP principles.
• Familiarity with LQA and Forbes hospitality standards.
• Experience with inventory management and waste‑handling procedures.
• Competence in handling and storing cleaning chemicals safely.
