Technical Designer – Joinery Specialist

About the role

Tripod’s Joinery Division is looking for an experienced Technical Designer to turn design concepts into precise shop drawings and production documentation for retail fit‑out projects. The role bridges design, engineering and manufacturing, ensuring that every joinery element is built to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings from BOQs, tender and design documents, including dimensions, materials, hardware, fixing details and finishes.
• Generate step‑by‑step assembly and construction instructions to support efficient production and installation.
• Create accurate cutting lists and material take‑offs aligned with manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct site surveys and coordinate findings with drawing updates.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers and production teams to resolve technical issues and keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain organized documentation, revision logs and quality‑check drawings before submission.

Required profile

• Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or related field (Civil Engineering a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in retail fit‑out or joinery production environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate concepts into manufacturable drawings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (essential).
• Creo or SolidWorks (advantage).
• Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of joinery materials, hardware and fabrication methods.
