Technical Director – Construction & Design

About the role

The Technical Director will lead all technical, architectural, engineering and design management functions for the Qiddiya Project. This senior position ensures design excellence, technical compliance and constructability across the entire project lifecycle, from concept through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical and design management strategy for the project.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, civil, MEP, infrastructure, landscape and specialist systems.
• Oversee all design stages – concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC and construction documentation.
• Review and approve design submissions, calculations, specifications and shop drawing strategies.
• Coordinate design review workshops and technical coordination meetings.
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with local regulations, international codes and industry standards.
• Lead constructability reviews, technical due diligence and value‑engineering initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering large‑scale, complex developments such as mega projects, mixed‑use, hospitality, commercial towers, infrastructure and landmark projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and manage consultants.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and international engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with senior executives and external stakeholders.
