About the role
Our client is looking for an experienced Teradata DBA Administrator and Hardware Support Engineer to take ownership of administration, monitoring, performance, maintenance and L2/L3 support of a Teradata Vantage platform in Jeddah. The role covers both production and non‑production environments, working with Vantage 16/17.x on IntelliFlex and VMware while ensuring high availability, security and operational stability.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure and administer Teradata Vantage 16/17.x across IntelliFlex and VMware environments.
- Manage and support Viewpoint, QueryGrid, Data Mover, Business Continuity Manager (BCM) and Data Stream Utility.
- Monitor system health, query performance and resource utilization using Teradata Viewpoint.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization and workload management (TASM).
- Handle backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery processes with Data Stream Utility and BCM.
- Support data migration, replication and refresh activities using Data Mover.
- Configure and maintain QueryGrid for cross‑platform data access.
- Administer database users, roles, permissions and security controls.
- Apply patches, upgrades and platform maintenance ensuring ecosystem compatibility.
- Provide L2/L3 production and non‑production support, troubleshooting database, platform and infrastructure issues.
Required profile
- 5–10 years of hands‑on Teradata DBA or platform administration experience.
- Strong experience with Teradata Vantage 16/17.x.
- Proven ability to support enterprise‑scale production environments and resolve complex infrastructure/database issues.
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, CLIv2 and data integration technologies.
