Utilities Engineer (Electrical)

About the role

House of Consulting Office for Consulting Engineers Co. (HCO) is seeking an experienced Utilities Engineer (Electrical) to lead and supervise electrical utility construction activities for projects in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing the installation, testing and commissioning of MV/LV power distribution networks, substations, transformers and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise electrical utility construction activities across the project.
• Review electrical utility design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and method statements.
• Monitor installation of MV/LV power distribution networks, underground cables, substations, transformers, street lighting and associated infrastructure.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility authorities and other stakeholders.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical utility systems.
• Resolve site‑related technical issues and provide engineering support.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and quality procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports, technical documentation and progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in utilities and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical utility systems, MV/LV networks, substations, transformers and underground cabling.
• Experience reviewing design documents and technical submissions.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
