AI Engineer - Agentic AI Infrastructure

About the role

Foodics, a restaurant management ecosystem and payment technology provider founded in 2014 and headquartered in Riyadh, is hiring an AI Engineer. You will build agentic AI architecture using large language models to orchestrate planning, execution and tool interactions with minimal supervision, and lay the core infrastructure of microservices, integration protocols, state management, tracing and eval harnesses. The role is hands-on backend software engineering focused on coding, testing and system diagnostics, and welcomes applicants at all seniority levels.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain agent infrastructure, including orchestration logic, session handling, state management and backend service interfaces.
• Design tool integrations and MCP servers with clear boundaries and error recovery.
• Implement tracing and observability for model calls, retrieval and tool execution following OpenTelemetry GenAI standards.
• Build evaluation suites, benchmarks and regression tests, and run root cause analysis on runtime failures, loops, context degradation and hallucinations.
• Enforce runtime guardrails, cost thresholds, RBAC permissions, output validation schemas and human-in-the-loop triggers.
• Monitor AI research and architectural patterns and share insights across the engineering team.

Required profile

• Deep software engineering expertise in a modern language, with strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, memory allocation and concurrency.
• Backend experience with REST/gRPC APIs, relational and non-relational databases, caching, message queues and distributed systems.
• Full lifecycle delivery of production projects, methodical debugging and strong technical writing.
• Early-career candidates receive mentorship; senior engineers set technical standards and architectural direction.

Required skills

• Git, automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• LLM mechanics: context windows, tokenization, function calling and hallucination management.
• Nice to have: MCP, RAG, vector databases, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), Docker/Kubernetes, GenAI security and open-source contributions.
