Anesthesia Registrar

About the role

The Anesthesia Registrar provides anesthetic services to patients at NMC Hospitals and Clinics, ensuring high‑quality medical treatment, compassion and adherence to professional ethics, JCIA/CBAHI standards and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessment of assigned patients, including history taking, physical examination and interpretation of common diagnostic tests.
• Conduct daily pre‑anesthesia ward rounds for all in‑patients and document management plans in accordance with JCIA standards.
• Participate in the on‑call rota, respond to emergencies, and act as a member of the Code Blue team.
• Assist senior consultants in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and supervise junior staff as directed.
• Educate patients and families about care plans, health promotion and post‑operative instructions, documenting all education activities.
• Maintain accurate, timely and legible medical records for all patients.

Required profile

• Medical graduate currently enrolled in an anesthesia residency (Registrar level).
• Licensed to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia and familiar with Ministry of Health regulations.
• Works under the supervision of an assigned consultant and follows hospital by‑laws and departmental policies.
• Member of the Code Blue team and willing to participate in on‑call duties.
• Committed to patient‑centered care and continuous professional development.
