Assistant IT Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant IT Manager to support the IT department of Shangri‑La Jeddah. The role ensures that all critical hotel applications and hardware operate smoothly and that users receive timely technical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IT Manager in daily operations and liaison with other departments.
• Maintain and monitor critical systems such as Opera PMS, Infrasys POS, Call Accounting, Check EAM and the Messaging System.
• Provide first‑line support for hardware and software issues reported by hotel staff.
• Implement and follow standard IT operating procedures, including checklists and new requirements.
• Develop or enhance applications to improve departmental efficiency.
• Participate in hardware maintenance programmes and ensure data‑storage security.
• Identify improvement opportunities, prepare recommendations and support CSR and sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a senior analyst or programmer in a large organisation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Data security and storage protection.
• Operational knowledge of Opera PMS, Infrasys POS, Call Accounting System, Check EAM and Messaging System.
• Ability to develop new applications or enhance existing ones.
