Back End Maintainer

About the role

The Back End Maintainer ensures that the Necker and IBO equipment operate smoothly, without operational issues or quality defects, supporting the production of metal packaging for food, beverage and dairy products.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Necker and IBO machines, performing set‑up, adjustment, repair, overhaul and preventive maintenance.
• Examine, test and measure product output using gauges and instruments, recording data and ensuring compliance with quality specifications.
• Analyze camera rejects, report findings to the area team leader and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct changeovers or conversions for different materials, sizes or products.
• Follow safety SOPs, including lockout/tagout, chemical handling, machine guarding, housekeeping, SQF and PPE requirements.
• Identify mechanical or operational issues, propose solutions and minimize production spoilage.
• Apply the 5S system to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.

Required profile

• Mechanical diploma with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to work with hand tools and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings in clear reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Basic computer operation and report writing.
