Bellman Captain

About the role

The Bellman Captain supervises the bell team and ensures exceptional guest service from arrival to departure. The role coordinates luggage handling, guest assistance, transportation requests and daily bell desk operations while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Bellmen and Doormen.
• Welcome guests on arrival and ensure a smooth check-in experience.
• Oversee luggage handling, storage, delivery and retrieval in a safe and efficient way.
• Assist guests with transportation arrangements, valet services and local information.
• Ensure prompt responses to guest requests and inquiries, and handle complaints professionally, escalating them when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of luggage storage and guest deliveries.
• Train, coach and evaluate bell staff, and monitor their schedules, attendance and performance.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping and Security.
• Keep the bell desk, lobby and luggage storage areas clean and organised, and follow hotel policies and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Fluent English with good verbal communication skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to safely lift, carry and transport heavy luggage.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Basic knowledge of local attractions and transportation services.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
• Previous hospitality or customer service experience is an advantage.
