Biologist / Site Coordinator

About the role

Dürr Systems Arabia LLC is seeking a Biologist / Site Coordinator to support its vertical‑farming project in Taif, Saudi Arabia. The role starts with on‑site coordination during installation and evolves into monitoring plant health and crop performance once production begins.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily on‑site activities, coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, HSE, Quality and other teams, and organise regular site meetings.
• Oversee material deliveries, equipment availability, site‑access requirements and logistics, and support travel arrangements for international staff.
• Monitor plant health, growth, and crop performance in the controlled‑environment system, including temperature, humidity, lighting and nutrient solutions.
• Track water‑quality parameters (pH, EC), identify signs of stress, disease or pests, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with crop trials, optimise growing conditions, and maintain accurate records of observations, treatments and results.

Required profile

• Background in Biology, Plant Biology, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Plant Science, Biotechnology or a related field.
• Good understanding of plant health, growing conditions and controlled‑environment agriculture (vertical farming is a plus).
• Strong coordination and organisational abilities, with the capacity to work closely with technical and engineering teams.
• Problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, and willingness to learn the technical aspects of the vertical‑farming system.
• Ability to work on‑site in Taif.
