Business Development Lead Consultant – Legal Services

About the role

JP‑Legal is looking for a Business Development Lead Consultant to drive client acquisition and market expansion for its legal services. The ideal candidate combines a legal background with strong B2B sales or consultancy experience, and can translate complex corporate and commercial legal offerings into clear business value.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with legal professionals, partners, GCs and other decision‑makers.
• Provide consultative selling by understanding each client’s legal needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Design, develop and execute growth strategies for law firms, corporate legal departments and legal‑tech clients.
• Identify new business opportunities through networking, industry events, RFPs and direct outreach.
• Maintain deep product knowledge of JP‑Legal’s services to present relevant solutions.
• Create compelling proposals, pitch materials and thought‑leadership campaigns, and lead negotiations to close deals.
• Analyse market trends, client feedback and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with partners, marketing and business‑development teams on campaigns and events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration; legal education preferred, Master’s a plus.
• 4–8 years of business‑development, client‑relationship or sales experience within the legal sector.
• In‑depth knowledge of legal industry structure, services and client needs.
• Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
• Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
• Customer‑centric approach with strong negotiation capabilities.
