Chief Accountant – Riyadh

About the role

Samaya Investment Company is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function in Riyadh. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month‑end closings, and full compliance with IFRS, ZATCA, and local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycle, delivering a complete general ledger and trial balance by the 5th of each month.
• Supervise journal entries, accruals, provisions and inter‑company transactions across group entities.
• Oversee bank, supplier, customer and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• File VAT returns, Zakat obligations and ensure E‑Invoicing (Fatoora) compliance.
• Support the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis.
• Lead accounts payable and receivable cycles, aging analysis and collections.
• Act as primary liaison for external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and coordinate periodic inventory counts.
• Develop the accounting team, set KPIs and optimise the use of Odoo ERP financial modules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Professional certification (SOCPA, CPA or CMA) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading/retail or group structures.
• At least 3 years in a senior accounting role (Chief or Senior Accountant).
• Proven experience with Zakat/Tax and ZATCA compliance in Saudi Arabia.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Expert proficiency with Odoo ERP (Financial & Accounting modules).
