Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil Engineer acts on behalf of the Owner to review, coordinate and supervise all civil and structural aspects of AAR's construction projects. The role is site-based and covers the design, procurement, construction, testing and handover phases, working closely with the design and construction supervision consultant (GPP), project managers, contractors, suppliers and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, BOQs and method statements, and approve material selections for façades, waterproofing and specialised components
• Supervise civil and structural works, including earthworks, roads, drainage, utility corridors, concrete and steel works, foundations and building construction
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate building systems
• Track the inspection cycle: vendor and subcontractor approvals, material verification, stage-by-stage acceptance, testing, commissioning, operational readiness and handover, and take part in snagging and punch list reviews
• Support procurement through technical evaluation of suppliers, subcontractors, materials and construction systems
• Monitor progress against schedules, identify risks and delays, and prepare technical reports and site observations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
