Civil & Structural Designer – Saudi Arabia

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil/Structural Designer to join our engineering team in Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering high‑quality civil and structural design packages for industrial and oil & gas facilities, covering everything from 2D drawings to 3D models across FEED and detailed engineering phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 2D and 3D civil and structural design models and drawings.
• Prepare detailed drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, pipe racks, platforms, shelters, buildings, and equipment support structures.
• Create foundation layouts, pile layouts, structural framing plans, sections, elevations, and construction drawings.
• Model and update 3D designs using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Smart 3D (S3D), AVEVA E3D, or similar software.
• Produce general arrangement, fabrication, reinforcement drawings and material take‑offs (MTO).
• Coordinate with civil/structural engineers and other disciplines (piping, mechanical, electrical, process) and perform clash detection.
• Incorporate engineering calculations, vendor data, equipment loads and project specifications into design deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, client standards and international codes.
• Support site activities, answer technical queries, handle field modifications and construction‑related design requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8‑12 years of experience as a Civil/Structural Designer, preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or EPC projects.
• Hands‑on experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Proven expertise in structural steel and reinforced concrete modelling and detailing.
• Experience with pipe racks, equipment support structures, platforms, shelters, foundations and underground utilities.

Required skills

• SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) or Smart 3D (S3D) or AVEVA E3D.
• MicroStation.
• AutoCAD.
• Ability to extract drawings, MTOs and other deliverables from 3D modelling systems.
• Familiarity with international civil and structural design standards.
