Commercial & Contracts Director – Railway Projects

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Commercial/Contracts Director to lead contract, commercial and claims management for a portfolio of mobility and railway projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves overseeing all contractual aspects, mitigating commercial risks, and supporting the client and joint‑venture partners throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate and administer contracts for railway projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
• Monitor contract performance, manage amendments, change orders and variations while protecting client and JV interests.
• Provide strategic advice on complex contractual matters and interpret terms and conditions.
• Identify commercial risks, devise mitigation strategies and advise on implications of delays, claims or disputes.
• Serve as primary contact for all commercial and contractual issues, maintaining strong relationships with clients, JV partners, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Support contract negotiations to achieve fair, transparent and mutually beneficial agreements.
• Track and report on financial performance of projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
