Constructability Manager

About the role

KBR is looking for a Constructability Manager to join a multi-discipline team and lead the constructability programme for all projects in the Khobar office. The role sits under the Project Manager and focuses on making sure construction considerations are built into the design, while keeping the team approach and the health, safety and welfare of all project personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project constructability programme and run constructability workshops
• Maintain project constructability registers throughout all project phases
• Identify project drivers from commissioning, procurement and engineering, and optimum construction sequencing in brownfield environments
• Ensure heavy lift and logistics requirements for brownfield work are included in the programme
• Identify solutions that maximise off-site fabrication and minimise shutdown time to operations
• Take part in site surveys and in safety inspections and audits of contractors' fabrication and erection facilities
• Work with engineering and procurement teams internally, and with contractors, vendors, dimensional control contractors and operations personnel externally

Required profile

• Engineering degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience
• At least 15 years of experience in a brownfield construction background
• Experience in construction planning based on design drawings and reviewing EPC schedules for correct sequence and duration
• Ability to review design drawings from a constructability viewpoint and give input to estimators on construction man-hours
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills
• Desirable: previous construction engineering experience and familiarity with Saudi Arabia code requirements
