Senior Technical Professional - Pipeline

About the role

kbr is looking for a Senior Technical Professional for its pipeline business. The role covers the study, design, specification and services related to pipelines, including route selection and layout, field surveys, material selection, coating systems, cathodic protection, leak detection, and valve, terminal and pump stations. It works under general supervision and may involve leading a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and carry out work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
• Perform work involving conventional engineering practice, sometimes with complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable conventional materials and difficult coordination needs
• Devising new approaches to problems encountered
• Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers
• As lead, plan, budget, organise, coordinate and control the project, and handle performance appraisals and coaching of lower-level professionals

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of related experience (average 6-10 years)
• Sufficient professional experience to act as a fully trained professional
• Broad knowledge of precedents
• Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred
